Introducing the directors

Eryk Aughenbaugh (directing Normandy Sherwood’s To the Ansonia) is a performer and theater artist based in Brooklyn, NY. He is so thankful to be working.

Lisa Dring (directing Angela Santillo’s Don’t Weep For Me Willow Tree) is a former apprentice of Actors Theatre of Louisville. She has worked with companies such as Circle X Theatre Co., East West Players, Theatre of NOTE, and Boston Court. She holds a BA from the University of Southern California. She is the co-producer of this year’s Communal Spaces.

Brian Hashimoto (directing Dominic Finocchiaro’s Sunday’s Clown) is a director & photographer based in New York. Directing credits include: Outfoxed* (Access Theater – Upcoming) Unville Brazil* (Drilling Company Theater – NYIT Nomination for Outstanding Musical), Rank Jumping, Foreplay or Redplay and (part of FOREPLAYS*, Galapagos Art Space, Brooklyn), Clean Sheets* (Vintage Loft, NYC), La Boheme (Connecticut Lyric Opera, New London, CT); Maturity Limit, Standing Ground, 4 Directions, and The Flying Machine (The Eugene O’Neill Theater Center); Brian received his B.A. in Drama from Ithaca College and is an alumnus of the National Theater Institute. Additionally, he has trained at the St. Petersburg Theater Academy in Russia as well as Balinese Mask at Studio 5 in Brooklyn, NY. (*Denotes FullStop Production)

Paul Markert (directing Tommy Smith’s Myths of the Hmong) is an alumni of the National Theatre Institute and Marymount Manhattan College. He is also a founding member of Lust & Liberty Theatre Company. Recent Credits Include The Triangle at the American Globe Short Play Festival and a workshop of Lust & Liberty’s debut piece Everyday Music. He would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved with the Garden Play Festival!

Lillian Meredith (directing Alexandra Bassett’s Agon Hope Steven and Patrick Shaw’s Master Dallows) is a director and performer based in New York. She is a founding member of FullStop Collective in New York, an associated artist with foolsFURY Theater Company in San Francisco, a former directing intern with Actors Theatre of Louisville, and a member of the Lincoln Center Director’s Lab. A graduate of Vassar College and the National Theater Institute, Lillian has also trained at BADA, LAMDA, and with SITI Company, The Wooster Group, and Mary Overlie, among others. She is the creator and co-producer of Communal Spaces.

Michael Padden (directing Alexis Roblan’s We Pray) Sex and Death in London (Rising Phoenix Rep), Guns for Gloves(Theatre for a New City’s Dream Up Festival), Currently in development: Choker by Jonathan Edwards. Assistant Credits include: Our Town (Barrow Street Theater), Brighton Beach Memoirs(Broadway), When the Rain Stops Falling(Lincoln Center Theater), and The House of Blue Leaves (Broadway). Upcoming: I Didn’t Want a Mastodon by Halley Feiffer, Barn by Charlotte Miller.
