This garden was created in memory of someone special. So was this play. In it, two friends grapple with the recent death of their dear poet-friend, and wonder what he’s up to now in poet-heaven.

Jaspal Binning (Alan) recently acted in a workshop of An Ordinary Man at Signature Theatre (directed by award winning playwright Tony Kushner). Additionally, Jaspal starred as Adam in the Drama Desk Award winning show The Mysteries (The Flea Theater). Other notable credits include: Thomas Bradshaw’s Job (The Flea Theater), Otherland opposite Tony Nominated actress Condola Rashad (The Pearl Theater), The Shaking Earth (NYTW Dartmouth 2014). Jaspal made his television debut as Joel on HBO’s The Newsroom and is a series regular on the pilot Brown Nation. Upcoming film: Ovum (2015). Matt Cox (Walt) is an actor, writer, musician, and improviser. Emily Daly* (Georgette) is an actor and writer based in NY. Recent theater credits include Joy in Rise (Crystal Skillman/ Stable Cable Lab Co), Susan in Full Disclosure (Steve DiUbaldi/ Rising Phoenix Rep Cino Night), and Billie inSmiling, the Boy Fell Dead (York Theater Company). Emily is also currently starring in the new series Zone: Zero (Everest Studios), which will be released fall 2015. Marianna McClellan* (Emily) is a performer, born and raised in the NYC’s East Village. She has performed and collaborated with the Clockwork Theatre at Theatre Row (Cherry Smoke, Underground, and Apartment 3A), and produced and performed in Outside Sitka as part of IRT’s 3B development Series. Marianna has performed regionally in Othello (Portland Center Stage); The Hour of Feeling, Hero Dad, and Oh, Gastronomy (Part of ATL Humana Festival 2012); Dracula and A Christmas Carol (Actors Theatre of Louisville); Sedition (Playwrights Theatre of New Jersey); and Black Comedy (Shadowland Theatre). Film Credits include L for Leisure (International Film Festival Rotterdam 2014) Pre, and How to Score Your Life.
Georgette Kelly (Playwright) is a playwright with networks in New York and Chicago. She is the recipient of 2014 Jane Chambers Student Playwriting Award, a finalist in the 2015 Alliance/Kendeda National Graduate Playwriting Competition, and a nominee for the 2014 Kilroys List. Georgette’s plays include: Ballast, F*ck la vie d’artiste, In The Belly of the Whale, How to Hero, I Carry Your Heart, and an adaptation of Jeanette Winterson’s novel, Lighthousekeeping. Her work has been developed and supported by The Kennedy Center, The National New Play Network, The Lark Play Development Center, The Alliance Theatre, Prologue Theatre Company, and The City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs. Georgette holds a B.A. in Performance Studies from Northwestern University and an M.F.A in Playwriting from Hunter College, where she studied with Tina Howe, Arthur Kopit, and Mark Bly. Lillian Meredith (Director) is the founder and co-producer of Communal Spaces: a garden play festival, and co-artistic director of The Motor Company. She is also a director, performer, and native New Yorker dedicated to the creation and development of new work. Recent credits include shows at Soho Rep, Culture Project, Dixon Place, Hunter College, Actors Theatre of Louisville, the FURY Factory Festival of Ensemble Theater, and the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center National Playwrights Festival, among others.
