Ryan dropped out of high school, so he can train to be the next mayor, naturally. So how could he help three Traditionalists from the Edge Country find their disappeared children? His dad, the Mayor, will know.

headshotBrian Dunlop (The Vizier) is thrilled to be frolicking in a garden once more with Communal Spaces. Originally from a small Himalayan mining town, he immigrated to the States to pursue a career in acting after being told to by the village goat, Rufus. When he arrived he was attacked by a band of vagrants who stole his possessions and left him destitute on the street. He was soon befriended by a lonely grasshopper who taught him how to play his leg and make sweet, sweet music. He currently resides Brooklyn.

Education: B.A. The University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Eilbacher_KarenKaren Eilbacher (Maddie) GLAAD Award Winning actor (She Like Girls) and director. She is a Company Member of The Bat Theater Company at The Flea Theater (a cautionary tail), TE’A of Intersections International (Cadence: Home), MTWorks, Descent (Gravity), S.T.A.R. at The Directors Company, Playwrights Gallery, The WKSHP and Poetic Theater Productions. Her work has been seen at: A.R.T., Straz Center for the Performing Arts, Ensemble Studio Theatre, LaMaMa ETC, (old) Ohio Theatre, The Flea Theater, The Wild Project, June Havoc Theatre, 133rd St. Arts Center, Tisch School of the Arts, Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute, among other Off-Broadway and Off-Off-Broadway stages. Awards: Curfew (Academy Award, Short Film Live Action 2013), “Parallels” (LAWEBFEST Outstanding Supporting Actress). TV: Scorned: Love Kills, Smash, Dr. Oz. Rebeca Fong Headshot-2Rebeca Fong (Traditionalist #2) is excited to be making her Communal Spaces debut. She is a graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, who has been fortunate enough to work with The Amoralist Theatre Company, T.J. Collins (award winning director), and Adam Rapp (Pulitzer Prize Finalist). These wonderful artists have helped Rebeca explore the beauty of theatre, film, and what it takes to clean fake blood off of taxidermy. Some of her favorite roles have been Rose in Ruby’s Story (Mary McCarthur Theatre) and the understudy for Allison Williams in Derek Ahonen’s Pink Knees on Pale Skin (Gershwin Hotel). Rebeca is currently a Sanctuary: Playwrights Theatre Core Artist.

gabby hsGabby Sherba (Traditionalist #1) has been performing with various collaborators in theatre, film, and music since she was an adolescent. She has just closed a run of a devised adaptation of Goethe’s Faust with Adaptive Arts Theatre At The Brick in NYC. As a musician, she writes and performs with Brooklyn-based bands, The Morrow, Bright Brown, and occasionally as a solo artist. This winter she’ll be playing the role of Lisa in Collected Stories at 2nd Story Theatre in RI. She hopes to evolve into a sitar someday.


Headshot Orange HatPatrick Shaw (Playwright) writes plays, acts, dances, and makes music.  His scripts have been produced at The Flea, the Drilling Company, Galapagos Art Space, Cherry Pit, Hudson River Guild, Flushnik Art Space, Bradley University (Peoria), Gorilla Tango (Chicago), the Frontera Fest (Austin), and developed at Norm’s Fish Camp.  A Miracle StudyAutobiography of a Sparrow, and Lushly have all been semifinalists for the National Playwrights Conference, and his play HAMLETTES was a finalist for the Lark Workshop and was later published by Playscripts, Inc.  A graduate of Kenyon College and the National Theater Institute, Patrick has  performed with Spessard Dance, Bakerloo Theatre Project, the Duplicates, and Underbelly.  He was a founding member of FullStop Collective in NYC and is currently pursuing an MFA in Playwriting at the University of Texas in Austin.

lillian headshotLillian Meredith (Director) is the founder and co-producer of Communal Spaces: a garden play festival, and co-artistic director of The Motor Company. She is also a director, performer, and native New Yorker dedicated to the creation and development of new work. Recent credits include shows at Soho Rep, Culture Project, Dixon Place, Hunter College, Actors Theatre of Louisville, the FURY Factory Festival of Ensemble Theater, and the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center National Playwrights Festival, among others. Lillian is a co-founder and member of FullStop Collective, an associated artist of foolsFURY Theater Company in San Francisco, and a member of the Lincoln Center Directors Lab and the Soho Rep Writer/Director Lab. Proud alumna: Vassar College, National Theater Institute.
